Sparkle & shine! The 3-minute fix for polishing your brass jewelry

brass shield necklace

Brass jewelry looks so amazing and is such an affordable alternative to real gold that I'm totally smitten. If you don't own a brass pendant or brass earrings, you really should give them a try!

I love how the rich colour looks so good with different skin tones and fall outfits, but with time and exposure to moisture and skin oils, brass can develop a patina that darkens your favourite piece.

There's a really simple 3-minute fix to bring back the shine in no time.

Here's what you need:

+ Juice from 1/2 a lemon

+ about a teaspoon of baking soda

+ a little bowl for mixing

+ a soft cloth to apply the paste

Step 1: squeeze the lemon juice into the bowl.

Step 2: add the baking soda and mix to form a paste (the mixture will fizz at first).

Step 3: gently rub onto the brass with the soft cloth in small, circular motions

Step 4: rinse with warm water

Voila! Your brass jewelry will be shiny and bright once again! Let us know your favourite jewelry cleaning tips in the comments section below.
